Meet Our Principal

Greetings from your principal, Mrs. Cooper!

It is an honor to serve on the leadership team here at Smyrna Elementary.  I have bee with JCPS for over 10 years and served in the roles of teacher, special education teacher, and behavior support coach prior to my role as an assistant principal.  I obtained my undergrad degree from the University of Louisville in elementary and special education, a master's degree from Indiana University with an endorsement in English as a  Second Language, and my Rank I from University of the Cumberlands.  

At home, I have two beautiful children, a wonderful husband and three dogs.  We love attending U of L sporting events and going to the lake during the Summer.  I enjoy traveling to new places, especially those with beaches!

My passion is supporting students and working with families.  I hope to continue learning and growing with you and your child here at Smyrna.  Please feel free to reach out if there is anything I can do to assist you or your child.
