FRCs were started in Kentucky schools as a part of the Kentucky Education Reform Act (KERA) in 1990. The primary goal of these centers is to remove nonacademic barriers to learning as a means to enhance student academic success.

Some of the services/activities/programs offered by the Price FRC are:

• Uniform assistance

• School supply assistance

• Transition programs

• New-student assistance

• Basic needs referrals

• Emergency assistance referrals

• Referrals concerning daycare or after school activities

• Parent Engagement activities (in collaboration with school and Parent Teacher Association [PTA])

• Information for new and expectant parents

• Attendance work
