Engineering & Design

I have been teaching for 19 years and have taught at Ramsey since it opened in 2008. My two sons are Thomas, who is 8, and Henry, who is 6. My wonderful husband, Dale, is a captain at the Fern Creek Fire Department. Our family pet is a bearded dragon named Gerrick! I love spending time with my family! It is amazing to watch them grow each day. My favorite activities are going to the park and playing games, especially video games, with them.

I am beyond excited to be teaching Engineering & Design at Ramsey. Students are eager to engage with the subject and feel empowered by it. Their enthusiasm and inventiveness surprise and energize me every day!

Engineering & Design

I am thankful to have the opportunity to teach EACH of you and especially something as interactive, fun, and applicable to the real-world as Engineering & Design with a focus in Robotics. Students can expect to gain experience with coding through an online program called Code.org, but no matter what level of experience you have, I will be flexible and here to guide you along the way. You will also have the exciting opportunity to build and program VEX robots. I also hope to introduce you to other career skills needed in jobs in computer science and engineering and allow you to provide ideas throughout the process. I love to run, and I help coach cross country and track at Ramsey. I graduated from UofL and am certified to teach math. As part of my masters degree, I also became certified to teach students who are learning English as a second language, so I enjoy learning about different languages and cultures. This is my third year at Ramsey, and I am optimistic it will be great!
