My name is Melanie Richmond and I am the Mental Health Practitioner (MHP) here at Hartstern Elementary. I am very excited to join the Hartstern community as a MHP after having been a classroom teacher for several years in other Louisville schools. My mission as a Mental Health Practitioner is to help provide all students with a positive school climate that cultivates respect, responsibility, and readiness to learn through small group counseling, individual counseling, and whole class social-emotional learning lessons. I will also utilize community partnerships to help connect students and families with mental health therapy and other community based services.
