Internal Audit supports JCPS in achieving its objectives by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of JCPS’s governance, risk management, and compliance activities. Our reviews are designed to provide reasonable assurance to the Jefferson County Board of Education (JCBE) and Cabinet members that processes are operating efficiently and/or effectively to meet requirements set out in regulation and/or district policy.
The department is staffed with JCPS employees experienced in performing independent and objective evaluations of internal controls; investigating fraud, waste, and abuse; performing risk-management activities; and advising on best practices.
