Hello!  My name is Abby Terranova.  This is my 7th year teaching English as a Second Language at Semple Elementary, and my 14th year teaching in Jefferson County.  I love working with our ELL students and families, and do my best to create a responsive classroom!

I graduated with a degree in Philosophy and Elementary Education from Hanover College.  A few years later, I furthered my education with degrees in Teaching English as a Second Language and Teacher Leadership at Spalding University.

My name is Miriam Moore I am a bilingual instructor at Semple Elementary.  I was born in Mexico, and moved to Louisville in early 1990.   My native language is Spanish, my second language is English. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Some of my favorite things are going to they gym, listening to music, learning new things and meeting people from all over the world. 

  I enjoy teaching and creating a welcome environment  for our students and their families.  My professional goals are to continue my education and obtain other colleges degrees in the education field.  ESL is more than learning English, it is connecting our community members one language at the time.
