Emily Allen

Emily Allen is a Louisville native. She earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology and master’s degrees in Learning and Behavior Disorders and Moderate and Severe Disabilities as well as an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Administration from the University of Louisville. She has two children of her own who both attend Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS). She has been married to Jeff since 2008.

Emily has been in the education field since 1999. She began her career with JCPS in 2006 and has a Temporary Provisional Certificate to teach in a Moderate and Severe Disabilities classroom. She has taught students who are two years old up to high school seniors, and has served in a variety of roles including classroom teacher, instructional coach, and is currently an assistant principal at Shacklette since 2015.

She works on positive behavior interventions and supports, multi-tiered systems of supports, instructional strategies, coaching teachers, and discipline. Emily loves working with the students and says that they brighten her day. She can often be found singing in the halls or talking to students about their schoolwork.
