Important Information for Certified/Classified Employees Applying for Tuition Reimbursement

  • Tuition reimbursement is limited based on available district funds.

  • There is no reimbursement guarantee.

Eligible requests will be processed in the order received. If we are allotted more funding for reimbursement purposes, there will be a waiting list when funds are not available.

  • The deadline for submitting complete requests is December 31 for the fall semester, May 30 for the spring semester, and August 31 for the summer semester. We will not take any submission after the established deadline since funds are available on a fiscal year-by-year basis.

  • Incomplete submission of materials will delay or cancel the tuition reimbursement processing. Acceptable financial evidence is required. Since this process involves multiple offices in JCPS, submit all documents as PDFs. Only e-submissions will be processed. Web versions of any documents are NOT ACCEPTABLE.

  • Tuition reimbursement only applies to the current school year (Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter) based on the above deadlines, anything outside of this timeframe will not be processed.

Praxis Tests

The Praxis tests measure the academic skills and subject-specific content knowledge needed for teaching. The Praxis tests are taken by individuals entering the teaching profession as part of the certification process required by many states and professional licensing organizations.

Preparing for Your Praxis

Before being admitted into a teacher education preparation program, you must complete the preliminary Praxis exams known as the Core Academic Skills for Educators (CASE) exam. You will be assessed in reading, writing, and math. You must complete the content and grade-level-specific Praxis exams based on your chosen certification.

Praxis Reimbursement Guidelines

Please submit the following:

A copy of registration for the Praxis exam(s)

A copy of Praxis scores
