An Internship is a type of work-based learning that provides work experience in a particular occupation and leads to course credit and compensation. Internships are aligned to a student's CTE Pathway and are typically paid, short-term experiences. *All Internship experiences should be coded accordingly in Infinite Campus and aligned to the student's TEDS-identified career program area.
To participate in an Internship, a student shall:
Have gained sufficient knowledge and skills for success.
Have completed the basic career and technical skill prerequisites required by the CTE Program .
Be Concentrator status in their pathway (2/4 CTE Pathway credits on transcript).
Be enrolled in a pathway course within the same academic year or completed pathway by the conclusion of the student's junior year.
*For more details on roles and responsibilities for participants enrolled in Internship experiences, review the Kentucky Department of Education's Work-Based Learning Manual.
