What is a School-Based Enterprise?

A School-Based Enterprise (SBE) is a simulated or actual business conducted within a school setting. School-based enterprises provide students opportunities to:

  • Utilize basic academic skills.

  • Experience a work-related environment.

  • Gain team and leadership skills.

  • Become familiar with technology used in their career field.

  • Develop an understanding of the economic system and its impact on society.

School-Based Enterprise Requirements

To participate in a School-Based Enterprise, a student shall:

  • Have gained sufficient knowledge and skills for success.

  • Have and maintain good standing at their school.

  • Be enrolled in a school and pathway with an available School-Based Enterprise.
